....So, it's been a minute.
:-/
In my defense, I've had a LOT going on since I last posted....in July
* C was diagnosed with epilepsy, and went through multiple medication changes.
* C started school (3rd year pre-k)
* I turned 34
* C turned 5
* My Explorer broke
* I was on the verge of a breakdown, then was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder
Ok, maybe there wasn't a lot going on, but it was pretty major things....right? RIGHT?
My last post touched on a facelift for this blog and since then I had started some posts that never got finished. Hopefully I can finish them and share them all with you.
In the meantime, it seems my journey has taken the fork in the road to the left. This road has brought us to a low carb/high fat diet for little C, to hopefully get his seizures under control. Which has been interesting, to say the least. (more about all of that later (promise)).
Anywho.....that's all I'll say for now, so I can have material for later X-D X-D
Happy Voting Day!

New look
Alright, alright.
As much as I love pink....it's gotta go. When I started this blog the day I turned 30....I was chronologically 30....but still mentally in my 20's. I still loved pink and glitter and girly and heels and purses and anything else that might fall into that category. And while, I still absolutely love those things, I'm on the cusp of 34 and on a way different page than that sweet naive girl, who had a baby 11 months prior.
Things I claimed when I turned 30:
"I'll always wear heels!"
"Coach purses for life!"
"Pink everything!"
"I'll never leave the house in yoga pants!"
"Dresses or death!"
"Leggings are back? Gross. Hopefully they won't last long."
Things I'm claiming now that I'm almost 34:
"Under Armor gym shoes are so comfortable."
"This bag is perfect for my wallet AND diapers."
"Pink!....this black shirt is cool too."
"It's a yoga pants kinda day."
"Do I really need to wear a dress to this event?"
"I just got more Lularoe leggings. I'll never wear jeans again!!"
LLR 4 LYF
See how quickly life changes? When you are chasing a 4.5 year old around, and running all over the state for activities, and play dates, and doctor appointments, you need quick, easy and comfortable. For real.
Anywho....that's not even remotely where I was going with this post.
As I'm sure you noticed, I've changed the look of my blog. I needed something a bit more....grown up *gulp*
Don't worry, I didn't COMPLETELY get rid of the pink. ;-)
And while it seems that I've let the girl of my past go...it wasn't easy. Not in the slightest.
I'll forever love the girly things....hell, I'm one of two, in a house of five....But it's time to not cram it down everyone's throat.
Forever young

Carpets
I have dogs.....one of them is a jerk.
If Miss Princess isn't let out as soon as she has told us, she decides to pee on the floor. (Damn brat)
I had stains on my carpet, and when the humidity hit my house smelled awful.
So, the day I had the chance to clean the carpet because it was cold out (68*) I took it.
I searched the internet for a DIY recipe since the store bought stuff wasn't cutting it in the past...and the store formulas are expensive.
I came across this: and decided to give it a try.
-I did add some Downy, in hopes to have a better smelling carpet.
This.Works! No joke. Stains that were in the carpet from years ago. Gone. The carpet looks as good as new!
Not only did the stains come out, my carpet smells so good AND the Downy made it super soft to walk on!!
I wish I had before and after photos!!!!
I will definitely be using this solution forever! Super cheap and easy to mix.
But what have I been doing to keep my house smelling great?
DIY carpet freshener.....duh.
I've recently started dabbling into the world of Essential Oils, and found this mix for carpets.
Again, super easy to make and CHEAP!!! I used an old parmesan cheese container instead of a mason jar, and used this Essential Oil. The lemon scent made my whole house smell so super clean (even if the rest of the house looked like a disaster).
The site said to leave the baking soda/EO mix on your carpet for 2 hours....a bit hard with 2 dogs and a 4.5 year old. I feel like 15 minutes was just fine enough.
So, here you go. 2 every day products you can make yourself, that can do a better job than the products you buy at the store!
And cheap!
Happy cleaning!

Hair Skin Nails
Hey there......
If you know me personally, you know that I'm a distributor for It Works. (If you want to know more about this, click here)
I'll be posting about products here, but I promise not to shove it down your throats.
I've been a distributor for 3 years TODAY, and I honestly love all of their products. There is definitely something for everyone, and I'm planning to post about at least 2 products a month.
Today, I wanted to write about Hair Skin Nails.
When HSN first hit the shelves (shelves? you can only get it online) I was super pumped and ordered right away!
So it came and I took them, 2 daily, and got kind of nauseous. I tried splitting them up, taking them at night...nothing worked, I was still sick to my stomach and super sad. So, I wrote them off and decided they weren't for me.
So a little over a half container sat on my shelf in my bathroom until about 4-6 weeks ago when I noticed it was about to expire. So I tried them again, and didn't feel sick after. So I stuck with them. Ordered another container. Super stoked.
I'm trying to grow out my hair, and an undercut. While I love the look and feel of an under cut....growing it out is a mega mega beeotch! (never again)
I would say my hair feels fuller....but I have a crap ton of hair, so that isn't a great comparison.
My nails though. Holla!!!! I noticed my nails grew and were hard and strong.
I don't think I've ever had to cut my nails. I usually break one and bite the rest off. That said, I had to cut them because I scratched myself and it was getting a bit difficult to type at work.
Then, I noticed my eyelashes. Um, what? They are so long! And pretty! It's almost as if I'm wearing fakies...which I can't put on to save my life.
All in all, I recommend this to anyone looking to grow their hair, or nails. Actually, since I've been taking it regularly, my face looks AMAZING, and I have acne issues for sure. I wish I had a before and after photo, just to show the improvement.
If you have questions about Hair Skin Nails, or any other products, please feel free to shoot me an email: abetteryouwithemilyn@gmail.com

Reboot
This blog. THIS BLOG.
Ugh. I feel like I post a lot of hot air. I would love more that anything...well almost anything...to make this successful. I'm so unorganized though. Barf.
I come in and post and say "Oh hey, xyz. I'm going to do really good now. Watch out. It's gonna be amazing. Unicorns! Rainbows! Glitter farts!"
Then nothing.
I haven't posted anything since January of this year. Literally, I only have a handful of posts and I've been trying to do this since 2012.
My biggest problem is content, I think. I have no idea what I should blog about and when I get an idea, its only a few sentences and I feels it's not worthy to post.
Unpredictable ramblings. Content shouldn't be hard E. Your blog name implies that you are blogging about anything. :headdesk:
I have a few posts saved. Not a lot is written, but they are started. Maybe time is my enemy? Structure? IDK. I.DON'T.KNOW.
(insert aggravated growl here)
So I guess this post is serving as my reboot post.(please don't look at past entries and make judgment) (also, please don't assume this post is the same as all the other, "I'm coming back" posts)
I've got ideas, I just need to put them on paper....errr...computer screen.
If you trust in me to read my stuff, I will promise not to disappoint.
How long should a blog post be? I don't want to go on forever, but I don't want it to be too quick.
Here's to the future and for taking almost 4 years to make this blog happen.
Cheers

New journeys
I've started a new journey.
I've started working out.
And so has B.
I'm really motivated to do it. I'm starting to get up early and go walk every morning, and we do strength training Monday Wednesday and Friday.
B started a New journey as well.
He joined me as an It Works distributor!
I'm so happy that we are on the s same page for our futures!
